After The Storm

Referring to the title of the text and image, what do you think the story is about?
They might looking for some sticks or pine cones after the storm.
Why were the children worried that the beach was not ‘smashed’?
Because they thought the beach because get smashed so hard by the storm last night.
What had the air been described as being? Can you discuss what this may be like.
The air sounded like being in when the snow was falling down, It would be like you're in  a silent room.

What had the children found at the foot of the tree? What do you think was inside the hole?
The kids found a den, inside it has 2 pine cones and a dead kitten skull.

The word ‘structure’ what does mean.
Structure mean is like a design example like making a Skytower

What had the children found in this whole, what gave away that this was what they had found?
The children found a skull made out with bone , It was small, most were curved, some were fluted, and some needle-sharp and round structure.

Why had dad purposely built his fire at this spot on the beach?
The dad built fire where the high-tide mark and a round the flat rock.
Referring to the image what season do you think it is? What gives it away?

How do you think the kitten had died?
The mother of the kitten went to look for some food and never came back.

How are dad and Matthew describing the kittens life compared to humans and the amount of support that we have?
The kitten didn’t have any support or any friend, he didn’t have father, grandpa, grandma or brother and sister.







The children are planning on decorating the den, what do you think they might do?
The children going to find the den again, and they going to decorating it they will put some rocks,fan shell and feathers.


This is a very thoughtful gesture the children are doing for the kitten, what are some other thoughtful gestures?  You could put a flower near the den and you could put a note that said “Be careful don’t walk, watch out for the den!!”.
