The Point England Way!


At Pt England school there a guideline called The Pt England way. It kind of like a path to success. All the teacher and students follow the Pt England Way, example like respect most all the teacher and student follow it. for Pt Englander respert is so important, it kind of being a kind student or teacher walking to school with happiness and friendship to school, example when the student a having a fight he would stop the fight straight away. that what respect mean to Pt Englander. The Pt England way is true way to success.

Team 5 Writing

The special place for me is Point England Reserved, it connect with beach, filed, bush and lots more.it not a private place, everyone is welcome to joined. It’s not just for NZ, it’s for the whole world every country, there over 50+ Cars Parks, It’s opened 24/7. every season they put soccer goal and cricket ground.

There is lots of stuff you allow to do like cricket club, soccer club, Fitness club, Rugby club and lots more. It got playground for kids to play or adult, bush to run around. there is beach to swim or dog training to swim. there is even Cooking machine place for free. you can even ride bike or run around the field or the bush. It close to our Pt England School. so after school you can just walked to beach and go for a swim with your friend.

The Flood

The Flood
How do the images and the text support each other?
When I look at the text I thought it about the storm and tornado.
the whole town is going to be flood.

What does it mean when it says ‘Rain was pelting on the roof’?
It sound like the rain was raining so hard that they can’t even heard their self.

Why do you think Ama’s mother said she should hang on to her?
So they don’t get stuck flood and to be safe!, She young and she scary

For what reason do we think Ama grabbed her blanket?
She is young some kids like blanket so much. She is still young.

How old do we think Ama might be?
I think she might be only 4, and had cuddly blanket. Looking at the page she looks so young.
How would you feel if you were Ama from being at home relaxing on the couch to being rushed away while a disaster is occurring?
It would be a bit scary then confused.

Why did Ama and her mother cling to each other?
So they won’t let go of each other. So they won’t go different direction.

What had the road turned into? If you were in this situation what would you do? It turned into the muddy, I would hold my partner so tight that he won’t go off.
Who picked Ama up?  If you were Ama and a stranger picked up, how would you react in such an emergency?  If a stranger came and picked me up I would kick and the guy face.
Why would they being going to her grand parents house? Where is their house located? If a bit safer at the top of the hill. The House is located at the top of the hills.
Wednesday:
Summarise what has happened in the story so far.
Ama mum and said to ama “Quickly, Ama. Get up! There’s a flood, and we have to get out of the house” was shouting Ama house was going to be flood, and they try to run and they were holding tile but Ama slip off and she nearly drow and a man over the road came pick her up and now they're going to grandparents.

Why do you think Ama did not want her mother to leave her?
She don’t want her to get hurt and flood.

Why did Ama’s mother go off into the dark night while it was raining
She went to look for Lucky.

After The Storm

Referring to the title of the text and image, what do you think the story is about?
They might looking for some sticks or pine cones after the storm.
Why were the children worried that the beach was not ‘smashed’?
Because they thought the beach because get smashed so hard by the storm last night.
What had the air been described as being? Can you discuss what this may be like.
The air sounded like being in when the snow was falling down, It would be like you're in  a silent room.

What had the children found at the foot of the tree? What do you think was inside the hole?
The kids found a den, inside it has 2 pine cones and a dead kitten skull.

The word ‘structure’ what does mean.
Structure mean is like a design example like making a Skytower

What had the children found in this whole, what gave away that this was what they had found?
The children found a skull made out with bone , It was small, most were curved, some were fluted, and some needle-sharp and round structure.

Why had dad purposely built his fire at this spot on the beach?
The dad built fire where the high-tide mark and a round the flat rock.
Referring to the image what season do you think it is? What gives it away?

How do you think the kitten had died?
The mother of the kitten went to look for some food and never came back.

How are dad and Matthew describing the kittens life compared to humans and the amount of support that we have?
The kitten didn’t have any support or any friend, he didn’t have father, grandpa, grandma or brother and sister.







The children are planning on decorating the den, what do you think they might do?
The children going to find the den again, and they going to decorating it they will put some rocks,fan shell and feathers.


This is a very thoughtful gesture the children are doing for the kitten, what are some other thoughtful gestures?  You could put a flower near the den and you could put a note that said “Be careful don’t walk, watch out for the den!!”.

Fixing the Playground.

Where were the children playing after school?
The student from Strathmore Park School always play at the Taiaroa Street Playground everydays.
What was wrong with the hoop the children had been playing on?
The netball hoop was falling down and there is nothing else to play on at the playground.
What suggestions did Lene Make, about what they might need?
Lene suggested it would be better if they have some swing and a slide, and a new hoop.
Who is Mr Findlay?
Mr Findlay is a teacher from Strathmore Park School, and he the teacher for Lene, Penelope, Clarissa and lots more
What did Mr Findlay suggest the students do?
Mr Findlay suggested they could call the Local City Councillor.
Where did Mr Findlay take the students? How did they react to being at such  place?
Mr Findlay take the student to the City Councillor Offices, Lene react said “I’ve never been into a place like this before”.
Predict what you think will happen next in the story?
I think the Councillor going to say no about the playground when the student ask about the playground.
Wednesday:

Summarise what has happened in the story so far:
The students talked to Mr Findlay and he suggested they could call the Councillor and the Councillor said come to Offices on Wednesday morning.
How did Penelope react to going into the meeting room?
He would be prove of himself because meeting with the City Councillor.
Who introduced and welcomed the children?
The chairman introduced and welcomed the student from Strathmore Park School.

What did the students talk about when the were at the meeting with the chairman?
The students talk about the playground at Taiaroa Street, the hoop at the playground is falling down and there is only 1 hoop in the playground, and he said “we need swing, slide and a new hoops”.

Yes, it was a good argument and it had a good statements.

Thursday:

What did Penelope suggest that was needed for the younger children?
Penelope suggest it would be safer if theres a fence because the little kids run out onto the street.
What did the councillors ask the children lots about? For what reason do you think the councillors did this? So the councillors know why did they come for a meeting for, so they know what the students needed.

Who took a photo of the children outside the meeting place? What did this person do with the picture? The local paper took a picture of the kids, and the picture is in the front page of the paper the headline.

Why did you think the children had their picture taken?
Because they could show their picture and show their kid, and show off your friends.
What is an architect?
Architect is a guy who drew a plan when they are making new house or playground, it like designer.
What did the architect’s plan look like? Were the children pleased with his plans?
It look like a huge playground with lots of hoops, with different height of hoops and some fence by the road and they added new slide and swings.
Why was Mr Findlay proud?
He was proud of the kids because the kid just came a asked what could they do and now the councillor is going to fix and put new stuff into the playground.
Do you think this is a big accomplishment? Why/why not?
They have a very big accomplishment they got into the headline and the councillor is going to fix the playground.
What did Penelope make after the playground had been built?
Penelope make a big speech thanking all the people that help them built the playground.
